In 1913, Swanndri was founded by William Broome in New Zealand. Frustrated by the incessant New Zealand rain, William developed a work shirt with a secret waterproofing. The work shirt, made from 100% pure wool was fabled for its durability and practicality. It quickly became the first choice of pioneering New Zealanders. William named the shirt the Swanndri because of the way the water ran off your back. Over the last 103 years, Swanndri have quietly built a reputation for apparel that stays the distance when the going gets tough.
