Low profile, retractable design

The Airmar P17-HP NMEA 0183 Smart Temp Sensor Transducer is a low-profile, retractable, thru-hull sensor that computes accurate temperature data and sends it to any NMEA 0183 display or network. This unit is nearly flush and minimise drag with only 5mm (3/16") extending outside of the hull. The housing features a water valve which minimises water ingress into the boat when the retractable insert is temporarily out for cleaning.

Airmar's Smart Sensors have embedded microelectronics—the transducer element and signal processor are only millimetres apart. The signal from the depth transducer is processed right inside the sensor itself. All that is needed to receive depth and temperature data is a single cable into a compatible network or display. The digital Smart Sensor can output in NMEA0183 format.
