The Reel
The Daiwa 20 Crosscast 45 Spinning Surf Reel is a 45mm stroke long-distance reel designed to maximise distance to gain access to untouched areas when fishing from the shore. It all revolves around the long-stroke spool, featuring a 2-degree front-facing taper to allow the line to fly off with ease. The long-stroke design minimises changes in direction for line flowing off the spool. Combine that with Daiwa’s new Slow Cross Wrap Oscillation system which evenly distributes the line more closely packed to itself up and down the spool, resulting in improved casting distance across the board.
A sturdy carbon composite body houses a DIGIGEAR II design drive, digitally designed and manufactured to exact tolerances to produce a reel that is smooth and strong. Carbon Design
The secret to the Daiwa Laguna X 1303HFS Surf Rod is Daiwa's carbon design, compared to conventional carbon material, Daiwa's carbon fibres are laid longitudinally with minimal resin use, then rolled at extremely high temperatures and pressure to produce an exceptionally light but super strong blank. By increasing the fibre quantity and massively decreasing the resin quantity it has created increase muscle in a slimmer profile blank, thus resulting in an even stronger, leaner, lighter, sharper rod than ever before. These blanks are incredibly fast and 'tippy' but fold away under pressure in an even arch to displace load through the whole blank for maximum fighting power.
Braiding X
For extra power, Laguna X features Braiding X, this is a new design for Daiwa rods especially in the budget ranges. Braiding X brings high-end technology and performance to rods that are designed for beginners and occasional anglers.
