The newest addition to the Emeraldas family, the light tackle Daiwa 20 Emeraldas X LT 2500S-H Spinning Reel offers the distinctive style you've come to love from the Emeraldas family, with the features needed to excel at Squid fishing of all kinds. The heart of any dedicated Squid reel is the drag and Daiwa's finesse ATD drag system is the epitome of them all. A finely adjustable drag setting will keep the barbs into even the timidest hook sets on a hard-running Squid.
The full gamut of LT Concept design principles has been built into this new reel including Tough Digigear design and the more compact LT body design. Truly lightweight and fully functional, the Emeraldas X LT isn't just a Squid reel, excelling at any application where light line and finesse drag capability is important.
The Rod
The Daiwa 21 Exceler Oceano 862MLRS Spinning Squid Rod takes value and performance to the next level. Light, powerful, and designed for ultimate strength and performance. Featuring Daiwa's Braiding X technology, 21 Exceler Oceano blanks are more powerful than ever, and have been made lighter by the use of new finishing techniques to reduce unnecessary weight. This reduction in weight improves blank sensitivity, making 21 Exceler Oceano the most sensitive rods in this price point Daiwa has ever produced. Fuji's Corrosion Control (CC) finish 'O' ring guides give a high level of confidence to the angler, and a uniquely designed Daiwa reel seat improves ergonomics and comfort over a long period of time.
The Braid
The Daiwa UVF Saltiga Durasensor X8 +Si2 Braid is masterfully crafted in Japan using the latest Daiwa technology to produce a silky smooth, super thin line that’s perfect for a host of fishing scenarios. This 8-weave braided line features Daiwa’s muscle PE fibres for higher abrasion resistance and enhanced durability. Despite its extremely thin diameter, the Saltiga Durasensor X8 is super tough with fibres 4x more abrasion resistant than normal braided lines.
Not all braid coatings are created equal. The latest Daiwa Si2+ silicon coating impregnates the individual fibres rather than coating them for a longer-lasting finish which aids in hydrophobicity and line management.
The Daiwa UVF Saltiga Durasensor X8 +Si2 Braid has been tweaked and perfected to suit a wide range of fishing applications with lighter weight offerings in distinct chartreuse colour. The dark green (every 10m) and dark blue (every 15m) markings aid in bite detection on slack line techniques. These lighter weight sizes from PE #0.6 to #2.0 are available in 200m spools. They’re the perfect size to either topshot 2 smaller spinning reels or to completely fill a standard depth Daiwa spin reel.
